Heather Warne Heather grew up surrounded by singing, dancing and acting. Her passion for the stage saw her undertake study at Unitec in the form of a Bachelors degree in acting, however, even in an acting course she found herself regularly cast in or drawn towards roles that involved music – in Coram Boy, as the singer in Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle, and in Silo's 2008 production of The Threepenny Opera, to name a few. These, as well as recent forays into solo singing at various concerts have sparked a renewed interest in musical theatre. |

THE
COMPOSER |
He
was only seven when he discovered a piano for the first time, and Patrick
knew immediately that he had found a friend for life in music! At Uni
he became part of a choir singing classics, and played guitar in rock
bands. |
||||
| Coming
to New Zealand, he performed for a number of years with a classically trained
guitarist specialising in Latin and Brazilian music, which inspired the
“Reverie Passion” guitar concerto in the musical. Since then he learned Latin dancing in Argentina, which influenced “Vamos Compañeros”- and visited Cuba in 2008, which inspired his song “Tell me Che Guevara” (not in Amour Fan)– audible on MySpace . He took his music to New York, not easy, but he knew he had to persevere, so he wrote the famous “Bicycle Song”! His performances in the last couple of years include a Geelong music festival – and playing guitar on the beach at Byron Bay (Australia’s hippie spot) and even a didgeridoo accompaniment with guitar – he is definitely having fun and music is his life! (PS – in his spare time he also runs an import business, hey the man’s got to eat!) |
